About Us

The Embassy was opened in 1987 to promote bilateral cooperation between the Republic of Uganda and the Republic of Italy, and is accredited to ten (10) other countries with Residence in Rome.

IV.    Republic of Cyprus
V.    Greece (Hellenic Republic) 
VI.    Republic of North Macedonia
VII.    Republic of Malta

It is also the Permanent Representative of the Republic of Uganda to the UN Rome Based Agencies:

I.    Food & Agricultural Organization - FAO 
II.    World Food Program - WFP 
III.    International Fund for Development - IFAD

While promoting bilateral cooperation in Rome and Countries of accreditation, the Embassy is guided by the following mutually beneficial strategic linkages:

V.    Protocol and Consular Support.
VI.    Diaspora Engagement.

In undertaking the stated strategic linkages, the Embassy is guided by integrity and mutual respect, fairness, timeliness, team work, and flexibility in service delivery that buttress day to day dynamics of diplomatic work.

The Embassy extends its services to Nationals, Non-Nationals resident in Italy and countries of accreditation, and with special attention to the Ugandan Diaspora.
